The Costume National party was an international blogger brethren. Ennio Capasa’s architectural and interior design was brilliant/madness. The randomly placed hot tub on the second floor added a nice comic relief from everyone’s most natural expression: jaw dropping in awe.

Costume Nationalのパーティーは、国際的なブロガーの集まりでありました。Ennio Capasaの建築とインテリアデザインは、鮮やかなでかつ狂喜的でした。二階にランダムに配置されたホットタブを見た人達の口をぽかんと開けた表情がおかしくって素敵な安心感を与えていました。感嘆のおもいでポカンとしてしまいました。

An overview of Tokyo’s Fashion Night Out: First a driver picked me up to head over to Costume National at the Aoyama Complex to meet the rest of the bloggers attending the event. Immediately upon arrival I met the darlings Kristina, Chiara and Carolina at Ennio Capasa’s ultra minimalist and modern abode. Then met up Yumi (our sweet sweet translator) and headed straight to Omotesando Hills for the opening party, where the madness officially began. The opening party was a complete Condenast congregation! Every single editor of Vogue Magazine came out to support Tokyo for this event: Anna Wintour, Emmanuelle Alt, Franca Sozzani, Anna Dello Russo, Eva Hughes–for the first time ever, were all gathered in one room. I spotted everyone from Roberto Cavalli, Michael Kors, and Christopher Baily. Bewildering, to say the least.

Tokyo’s Fashion Night Outの簡単なながれ：　最初に運転手さんがお迎えに来てくれて青山コンプレックスのCostume National に向かい、イベントに参加することになっている残りのブロガーさん達と会いました。到着後すぐに私は Ennio Capasaの「極小でモダンな住みか」で最愛の人達Kristina, Chiara と Carolina に会いました。

その後、Yumi（私たちのかわいい通訳さん）と落ち合い、オープニングパーティーが開催される表参道ヒルズに直行したのです。そこでは狂気な場面が正式に始まっていました。オープニングパーティーは、完全なコンデナストの集合体でした！ Vogue 誌のあらゆる編集者がこのイベントで東京をサポートするために来てくれたのです。Anna Wintour, Emmanuelle Alt, Franca Sozzani, Anna Dello Russo, Eva Hughes、、 一同揃って1つの部屋に集まるなんて。かつてないことなんですよ。私は、Roberto Cavalli, Michael Kors,そして Christopher Baily等いろいろな人達を目撃しました。控えめに言っても…、戸惑ってしまいました。

Then the night started. It seems that all of Tokyo came out to support on November 5th. Every single street was filled with crowds of people dressed to the nines. On the few breaks I sat outside due to weary feet, it was first class people watching. I visited a countless amount of stores during the night. My first stop was Roberto Cavalli, then Emporio Armani where I briefly met the president of the company and Italian Vogue Editor Franca Sozzani, played with scarfs and the photobooths atHermes, hung around Michael Kors while Anna Wintour made her appearance alongside Michael himself and Jennifer Hudson, fawned over the shoe collection atLouis Vuitton, compressed with other Americans at Dior, and finalized my last stop at Reed Krakoff., who kindly spoiled me during this trip. I ended the night at Anna Wintour’s and Michael Kors’ party at the surreal mansion at the American Embassy in Akasaka. I had a beautiful time absorbing the atmosphere. Though still frantic, the atmosphere was much more relaxed and it was nice to see all the editors and designers in the cocktail party environment. Never thought I’d find myself sipping champagne right next to Anna Wintour, but life certainly has a tendency to throw some exciting curveballs.

その後、「the night」 が始まりました。それはまるで東京の皆さん全てが11月5日のイベントをサポートするために駆けつけてくれたようでした。あらゆる道が華やかな服をまとった人の群集で埋め尽くされていました。私は疲れた足を休めるため外に座って少し休憩していたのですが、それはファーストクラスの「人・見物」でした。私はその日、数え切れないほどの店舗におじゃましました。私が最初に立ち寄ったお店は、Roberto Cavalli、その次がEmporio Armaniで、そこでそこの社長さんとイタリアのVogue編集者Franca Sozzaniに会い軽いお話をしました。Hermesのスカーフと写真ブースで遊び、 Anna Wintour、 Michael と Jennifer Hudsonと一緒に現れた時、 Michael Korsと話をして過ごし、Louis Vuittonのシューズコレクションをいじくり、Diorでは他のアメリカ人達と共にもまれ押しつぶされて、 Reed Krakoffで締めくくりました。彼はこの旅行中、親切に扱ってくれました。 その後、赤坂のアメリカ大使館の超現実的な豪宅で行われたAnna Wintour とMichael Korsのパーティーで一夜を終えたのです。私は雰囲気を吸収し、素晴らしい時を過ごしました。それでもまだ狂気じみているものの、雰囲気がはるかに緩和され、カクテルパーティーの雰囲気ですべての編集者やデザイナーに会えてよかったです。自分自身がアナウィンターの真横に座ってシャンパンをすするなんて考えてもみませんでした。でも、人生って確かに興奮するような変化球を投げる傾向があるのかもしれませんね。

Words can’t do justice to the amount of overwhelm I’ve felt these past few days. Thank-you to Vogue Japan, Kenta and all the folks at Signo for such a fabulous experience. This has been a once in a life-time opportunity I’m so grateful to have partaken in and I hope that it’s just the beginning of many more experiences to come in Japan. Also had a blast meeting all my readers (and randomly enough, running into a handful of American ones) on the streets of Tokyo!

この数日間の圧倒されるような体験の量は言葉で言い表すことができません。Vogue Japan,、Kenta とSignoのスタッフの皆様、このような素晴らしい体験をありがとう。これは人生に一度あるかないかのチャンスで、このイベントに参加できたこと感謝しています。今回が日本でもっとこれる経験のまさに始まりであることを願っています。また、東京の路上で私の読者の皆さん（そして十分に行きあたりばったりですが、ほんの一握りのアメリカの読者）と爆発的な出会いの機会を得ました。
