RUSTY THOUGHT(ラスティーソート)展示会場。

私がデザイナーの香取さん、鴨下さんに初めて出会ったのは二年ほど前、日本に一時帰国した際知人に連れて行ってもらった展示会の時でした。

そこではじめに一目惚れしたのは　RUSTY THOUGHTのRegard rings と羽根のリング。

Regard ring とは？！……..

19世紀頃、保守的なヴィクトリア王朝時代のイギリスでは直接的な愛情表現を人前でするのはエレガントでないされ、宝石の頭文字を並べたジュエリー（リング）を贈る事で、相手に敬意や愛情を表現することが流行していた。

regardの場合ー　R …..Ruby  E…..Emerald G…..Garnet  A…..Amethyst  R…..Ruby  D…..Diamod

dearstの場合ー     D…..Diamod E…..Emerald  A…..Amethyst R…..Ruby E…..Emerald  S…..Sapphire T…..Topaz

などとなるわけです。

下の写真で私が右手中指のリングは、regard ringとしても身につけることができる。重ね付けでなくても、ひとつで付けても可愛い！　毎年、自分にご褒美に買って、いつかメッセージを完成させていこうかな。。。（笑）

小さなスカルの目の中にガーネットとアメジストの石が入っている。

そのあと、古い伝統技術を引き継ぎつつも新しいデザインをモダンに昇華しているRUSTY  THOUGHTのクリエーションと、二人の温かい人柄のファンになってしまうまでには全く時間がかかりませんでした。

個人的に”ネコ”と”RUSTY  THOUGHT”のジュエリーっていうので、なにかやってほしい。

なぜ？ってそれはデザイナーの鴨下さんの猫ちゃん達がとってもフォトジェニックだから♥

At Rusty Thought exhibition for S/S12. I hadn’t seen the designers in almost two years, since I was introduced to them by a mutual friend, so it was quite a nice experience.

One of the great surprises was seeing that the Regard Ring line from those two years ago is still doing well and being expanded on. They are quite beautiful and I was glad to see new pieces complementing the line.

I have to say, I am a big admirer of the designers. It didn’t take me that long to become a huge fan of their work, as well as their personalities. My only wish it that in their future work they will incorporate cats, as they are proud owners of the cutest, and most photogenic felines I have ever seen.

”人生を紡ぐ”という意味を込めてspin a life  SS 2012 collectionのテーマ。京都の老舗の組紐屋さんとの出会いからできた、シルクの組紐をつかったシリーズ、細い糸を紡いだメタルのネックレスなどを展開している。

Rusty Thoughtというブランドネームには、時が流れ、たとえ錆びても、長く身につけてもらえるように、という想いが込められているそうです。

The theme for the new collection, called “Spin a life”, features pieces made using traditional kumihimo silk braid-making techniques.As with a lot of their other work, Rusty Thought can be described as a purveyor of traditional Japanese crafts. They have strong roots in their heritage, and want to continue and share these traditions through their work. It’s a very interesting method of combining modern and ancient art together.

アトリエにて。

前回のコレクション、”A life with flowers”の羽でできたお花のアクセサリー。かんざしの様にもつかえたり、もちろんジャケットにも付けても素敵。触るまで本物のお花かと思っていたくらい！！

他にも宗教美術やアニマリエ、植物などをモチーフに、異素材との組み合わせなど、”Rusty Thought”独特の世界観がとても素敵です。
